In 1901, Shogoro Yoshida opened a shop in Ueno, Tokyo, dedicated to selling pocket watches. Over the next 40 years, the business would blossom into one of Japan's most prominent watch manufacturers, renaming itself to 'Orient Watch Company Limited' in 1950.
