Tips to Make a Chronograph Watch Battery Last longerJun 02 2020 Journal
Many people are puzzled by the fact that the chronograph watch battery runs out faster than the classic watch battery. Here are a few tips to make the chronograph wristwatch battery more durable.
The chronograph function requires higher energy usage than a basic 3 hands movement. Whenever the chronograph function is activated, more energy is consumed. Should this function be allowed to operate permanently, the battery life will only last for around 10 to 12 months.
Therefore, use the chronograph only when needed and disengage when not needed. This will help to prolong the battery life, typically up to 2 years.
To de-activate the chronograph function, press the top chronograph button which is usually located near the number 2 on the dial. When you want to re-set the second hand to the 12 o’clock position, you press the bottom chronograph button which is usually located at 4 o’clock. Using the chronograph only as needed will lessen battery usage.
