Mount Whitney

Mount Whitney is the highest peak, at 14505 feet (4421metres), not only in the Sierra Nevada but also in the contiguous United States. For a climber of average ability, the ascent will take about 7 to 8 hours and the descent approximately 3 hours; so, to complete the climb in one day, a very early start, before sunrise, is necessary.

Muir Woods

An ideal place for a family visit. Muir Woods National Monument is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, north of San Francisco. It is known for its towering Redwood trees.
